Tribes and Empires: Storm of Prophecy : tbh if you are a chinese drama fan and have not watched this, go now and do so. Great emotional, mental, and physical whump in this one. Princess Agents - Shawn Dou won my heart in this show and then stomped on it. The ending is heartbreaking, but the characters are great with lots of men being whumped. Legend Of The Ancient Sword - my first Wuxia and my lord the whump. They have good whump, but be careful in the second one getting attached it’s so heartbreaking.Ĭruel Romance - gangs in Shanghai and a young woman gets embroiled with the leader of one of the gangs.
Nirvana in Fire I and II - both are worth watching. Recipe for fun! Good watch and great whump. Legend of Lu Zhen - a warrior prince who will do anything to protect the woman he loves. Lots of good whump, sad story but a fine ride. Chen Xiao also dubbed his own voice so it really matches well. Return of the Condor Heroes - the main couple in this one actually got married in real life. A Wuxia so lots of bright costumes and sword fighting, good vs evil and the like. Legend of Zu - the storyline definitely gets wonky in this one but there is a lot of good whump. Worth a watch, the main lovers are so cute. The Mystic Nine - another fun one, great cast and lots of whump. To be real Jing Boran is damn good at making pain look real. Love the characters and lots of good whump. The Chinese version of Queen In-Hyun’s Man. Love Weaves Through A Millenium - one of my absolute favorites. Lots of whump, self sacrifice, and betrayal from family. It’s wonderful and touching, besides Cecilia Liu is one of my favorite actresses she had such character. Love Lost In Time - the two main lovers literally meet when the male falls off a cliff after being shot by an arrow from his brothers. It’s interesting, and has also prepared me for some fun scenes. It’s staple, and also if someone is ill or sick their lips will be the same tone as their skin. With most Chinese dramas injury no matter where almost always involve blood at the mouth and some form of chest grabbing. There is a definite need to suspend your disbelief, but they have such wonderful court dramas more scandalous than Game Of Thrones, and Wuxias more beautiful than the Hobbit (and that is saying something because I love the Hobbit - Kili- sigh).
